I pleased with the opportunity to be the new Toronto Central Chapter
Chair and would like to take this opportunity to thank the current and
past chapter executive members for their support. I have really enjoyed
working together with this group as well as the neighbouring Toronto
East and West chapters, who we partner with frequently.
As an executive committee, we intend on continuing our previous success
in events and tours. This year we continue with the Toronto Region
Annual Golf Tournament and the joint Central/East Chapter Annual Family
Picnic as well as our participation in National Engineering Month
events. Over the last few years we have had informative speaker events
and facility tours and we will continue with these types of events going
forward and ask the membership for fresh new ideas/opportunities they
would be interested in.
Our chapter has over 1500 members and two colleges are within our
chapter area. We look forward to providing added value to our members
along with continuing to grow our relationship with George Brown and
Seneca Colleges. Growing our relationship with the college faculty and
its students ranks highly on our list of priorities for this executive.
As a volunteer organization we depend on your support and participation
and I personally invite every member to consider how they might
contribute to OACETT, be it with ideas of what we can do for you, your
fellow members and the community or by attending or volunteering at our
events. With our chapter website we hope that we can reach out to our
members more effectively and we appreciate your constructive feedback
Please continue to visit the chapter website and participate in events,
and when you can, let us know what works well or what changes you would
recommend for us to continue to build a strong and active chapter.
Thank you,
Steve Cauduro, C.E.T.
